Did an assessment this morning, and from the Port A jetties to around Park Road 1A, it is completely devoid of aerosol and there is zero fish on the beach (and it's not because the County folks in Port A cleaned them up; we coordinated with them yesterday to leave everything in place and they were going to clean the beach after we had finished). Things pick up from there, and by Park Road 2, it is pretty tough sledding. If you have asthma, I would avoid the beach for now. Tide was way out, and there were two distinct tide-lines of dead fish. Here is a list of what one of the stations had, near Fish Pass jetties.
In a single 50 foot section, we got:
133 Mullet
13 Ladyfish
27 Pigfish
7 Atlantic croaker
2 Atlantic needlefish
14 Whiting
18 Spot
71 Pinfish
3 Spotted seatrout
7 Stargazers
4 Sargent majors
1 Jack cravelle
1 Atlantic bumper
1 Scaled sardine
1 Spaghetti eel
1 Blenny
It's pretty much mullet, ladyfish, pinfish, spot, and croaker the rest of the way south to the sticks. Spotted a number of large red drum on the drive, and have reports that it's like that through the 30's and points south. The crew from the PINS run will be back later with their report.
If I was wanting to make it out to the beach, Port A is definitely the place to go now.
