Well, I've read quite a bit about what was caught (it was slow) and the prizes (they were silly nice) and the crowd (the beach was packed... but folks were polite, knowledgable and friendly)-- but I haven't heard about how the driving was. Is that spot around 7 still there? The highbanks still torn to nothing?

I was hoping that with all of the passionate PINS folks down there for Sharkathon, maybe some nice ruts were laid on the high road?

Just lookin for some recon. Glad to see everyone had a safe and responsible time on the beach!

HB

Driving was great, no weed and a hard packed beach. The highbanks was about typical but still totally manageable for a knowledgeable driver. Low water you can just bypass it all in the high banks as of last week. Maybe I'll see you down there again, don't worry this time breakfast will have to be on me! Cool

It was not bad at all. I went to the 51 and had no problem pulling my shark trailer. I will say everyone in our camp (around 20 people) had sore throats and I am confident it was due to red tide. It has a certain smell and my buddy and I are both familiar with it. There was no sign of any fish kill but on Saturday when the winds picked up it got worse with the mist coming off the water. It seemed to disappear around the 40 and all the way north. we managed around 15 reds a few pomps but no sharks.
