Rabbit nailed the most common characteristic, but to be sure, go down this checklist:
- Interdorsal ridge absent (a prominent line "line" on the top of the fish, between the dorsal fins)
- Leading edge of the 2nd dorsal fin (the one closest to the tail) behind the leading edge of the anal fin
-Small white spots on the sides of the body
If all of the characters fit, then you likely have an Atlantic Sharpnose. |
