|
1. What is the foam that forms on the bait bucket or live well
2. A friend put 6 drops of foam out in the water foam gone but 1 min later the
aerator froze up , Has anyone else had a problem or was it its time to die |

The foam did not freeze up your aireator they just do that from being in saltwater. Electric motors and saltwater even if sealed up go bad. The foam is just crap in the water. When we had shrimp boats the holding boxes would foam up from time to time. Exchanging the water would always do the trick. Works in bait wells too. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED.

Foam is caused by secretions from the bait such as ammonia and nitrates, proteins in slime, etc.

| In saltwater aquariums, we use protein skimmers which remove waste materials from the water in the form of foam. Its the same foam that forms at the surfs edge, due to all the small bubbles in the surf that attract waste material. |
