We decided to see how the new Beach Condo was going to work.

Not bad. We do not have the breeze across the bed like the old one but we will figure something out.

We did manage to put some fish in the freezer.

So we will have some fish to eat.

I did let the bragging flag fly.

This is the first time on the beach but there will be more in the comming months.

Do you have some 12 volt fans? I bought a couple at Pep Boys and use them in my little camper shell If it's not too hot I sleep with just one fan, really hot night might turn on both. They put out a lot of air and only use 2 to 4 amps per hour. I've spent as long as 4 nights on the beach and still have not run down my deep cycle battery I keep in the shell to run lights and fans. Fans are very long lasting and cheap - about 15 to 20 bucks each for two speed, oscillating model.

Big Ed, Thank you for the sugestion. I am going to pick up some kind of fan or fans to help with the air circulation. This was our first trip in this thing and did not know what to expect.

I wish I could find a camper for a reasonable price that would fit my Ford Ranger. It would have to be pretty small though. I guess I just need to put screens on my shell's windows.

Try adding a solar panel to the 12V system and you will never have to worry about running your battery down. I use a KC130 on my popup and it runs lights, fans, and a 12V frig. Cuts down on the anount of ice I need to bring also! <*/)))><

Walmart used to have these, cheap, & they work great! (they're not dinky & they can really put out a breeze. downside: they're a little loud) I've had them for about 5 years & 2 out of 3 are still working. I'm thinking they have 2 speeds, but we only use high.

Thanks for that, Workinbird! I was looking at these on Home Depot's website yesterday. We only have 1 outlet on the Jeep (that I've found yet)
What kind do you have? (this would be a much needed quick fix for me) and did you have to get separate plugs to hook up to them or do they come with the solar panels?
(duh, never mind on what kind- got it)

I just made the second payment on it so I have not had it long. This is my second camper and it takes a while to get all of the improvements installed.

I will be adding a solar panel in the future. I just found out that it is prewired for solar. All I have to do is install the panel on top and a regulator inside. It is a 2003 model and there are a few things I need to work on before the solar. Like recaulking all of the outside seams.

It is as bad as a boat but is it nice and worth it.

Nice Rig!! If could ask, how is it driving on the beach? I was thinking something similar but did not know how the truck would handle the soft sand with that much weight.

I used to have an old Palmetto 10' cab-over camper (pop-up)...That fit inside the tailgate...And when raised(2ft, if i remember right) it was open, or screened in with just a canvas on both sides and front and back...Plenty of circulation, if you had a breeze... Laughing

No problem. I like to talk about truck campers.

This is the old Beach Condo. 1999 NorthStar 800. It is listed in the for sale section.

It is still in good shape for it's age.

We are starting to travel more and need a little more comforts. Like an inside toilet with a shower and queen size bed.

The Outfitter is a top of the line in pop-up truck campers. Very nice.

Hope you get it one day.
