|
|
Figured i would try this here. My son is about to Graduate HS in San Antonio and has decided to go to school at TAMUCC. We are planning on making a trip or a few to find and Apt or Dorm for him.
Any Suggestions on a good apt. at a decent price? Somewhere within 10 miles of the school? Or what are the normal cost at the dorms? He knows his way around a bit (knows how to get to Breakaway and the beach and Port A, lol...) but that'll come with time. _________________ B.O.H.I.C.A. buddy |

I can't really help but stay away from the bluff. Hazardous to his health! _________________ Jeff

My old man's position with me almost 15 years ago was "dorm first year, if everything goes ok, then apartment." I found it annoying at the time. But, approximately 17 years from now when I am (knock on wood) making the same decision with my daughter, I'm pretty sure its going to be "dorm first year, if everything goes ok, then apartment." _________________

The older apartments along Ennis Joslin are pretty cheap. If he's anything
like I was in college you probably wouldn't want anything too nice
However, the best thing would be for him to get a house with a few of his
buddies from San Antonio. I don't know of any for rent though. _________________ Fish hard. You never know when you'll make you last trip south. |

may want to check The Shores on Ennis Joslin. Lots of students live there. Living on campus is pretty dang expensive these days so off campus housing may be a more affordable option. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

If you mean full of chicas, then yes they are trouble. Like I said, they are pricey, but you can't beat the social advantages. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |

I loved living in the dorms in college as a freshman. That's where all the girls are at!
Living off campus once you're a sophomore has its advatnages too, once you've met all the girls the year before. |

I'm not sure about that school in particular, but in my college experience living in the dorms was actually probably my favorite year out of the five I did at Purdue! By living in a dorm your first year you meet so many people and make a lot of friends since there are so many newcomers doing the exact same thing. If you live in an apartment your first year then you won't have the same opportunities to meet people and build a group of friends. To this day, I still talk to the friends I made my first year at college!
Hope this helps!
