I am sure most you have seen those bumper stickers around. Anyone know who paid to make and/or distribute them?

What are you talking about? They HAD a bombing range on the island during WW2. When I spoke to the admirals about a new range to replace the one on Vieques Island, P.R., they had just flown down in a helicopter to look at a site outside of PINS south of the Channel to Port Mansfield. Already disappointed because the terrain was too flat there to suit them, they seemed even more discouraged when I told them that location was full of piping plovers.
The snail darter (Etheostoma tanasi) is native to Tennessee, not Texas. 'Though they're a bit tattered, I still have several "Save the Snail Darter" T-shirts I bought in 1977 from Ziggy Plater, the Tennessee law professor who argued and won the case before the Supreme Court.
No place for bald eagles to nest on PINS, but I'm sure a nice herd of bison could manage there. Sure miss those low cholesterol bison steaks fresh off the grill at the Baer's Den!
