The Under Armour shirts (fishing shirts or just normal workout t's), albeit pricy, are great. Extremely comfortable to wear on the water; very breathable, excellent wicking, dries quick, and very stain (blood) resistant.

I don't care much for cotton on the water - it wicks the sweat but absorbs it and takes forever to dry and then gets uncomfortable, in my experience. I definitely won't wear cotton during the winter.

I totally agree about the Under Armour, but they're out of this poor boy's pain threshold, and I NEVER wear cotton ANYTHING except skivvies if the temp is below65 or so!!!!!!

When I was down there for the last OS trip I went to Academy wanting to buy and Under Armour long sleeve but they wanted like $70 for a long sleeve white!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I just went to the Under Armour site and I didn't see a Heat Gear, long sleeve shirt that cost more than $39.99.................................. and THAT I would have gone for! http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/en/mens/apparel/tops/longsleeves-and-mocks/tags/props/pg-1/?lr=cGFnZQ%3D%3D|1

Cripes, I may have to start shopping online if Academy has these jacked up so much!

All I know is that if you arent wearing a magellan shirt and costas you wont catch a darn thing. Well a columbia shirt and costas will work too. No need to even buy a rod and reel, wear them both and fish will just jump in your boat or wherever you stop on PINS! I'm talking redfish, trout and the one time I did wear one of those shirts with my costas, I caught a Wahoo in Nueces Bay! However, if you have any of those nasty orange logos from that socialist cesspool in Austin, hardheads is all you will get. Gig 'em 08!!!

I started wearing the Skiff Guide long sleeve about two weeks ago and they are great. The Skiff Guide II has UPF and is very easy to care for.
Wash, dry and wear.

I switched to these shirts 2 yrs ago. This is what I fish in most days. And that's what I am wearing in my avatar photo. I actually have one on at work right now for casual Friday. These things are great. Remember i fish from a kayak so we get paddle drip, fish splash, etc. on us all day. These shirts dry really quick and the cuffs don't stretch out. If you do get something on them, soak them with a little 409 before washing them and it's gone! I don't do cotton either since I am getting wet kayak fishing. Add the pantyless Columbia fishing pants with the belt loops and zip off legs..... Very comfortable and quick drying fishing outfit.
