Well, I never condisered earthworms a saltwater bait until capt Mike S. has been using them with good success in the salt. I even went and bought a box at academy but here is a better solution.

The worm lady, Rene Fuqua, is a organic gardner and she raises worms to make plant food. She also has thousands of worms. She lives in Austin Tx. I talked to her about selling to fisherpeople not just gardners. She said she never thought of that. She said I could post her website here in case someone wants a lot of worms or would like to buy a selfperpetutaing worm box for 40 dollars. She sells 1 pound of earthworms (weighed without dirt) for 30 dollars but for $40.00 she will send you 1 pound of earthworms and one of her wormboxes with all the directions to keep it going. She has a saying "if you call me before you kill them i will guarntee them." Besides garden veggie scraps the main thing she feeds them is newspaper. Seems that is one of their favorite foods.

So if your thinking of geting wormy, I know I am after hearing Capt Mike,
Here is her website.

Hurry before PETEW gets wind of it.
I rescued some from my sidewalk yesterday, guess the rain confused them.
No, it was not Pomps or croakers.

To stay ahead of the seasonal bait patterns, better ask her if she raises piggies. Very Happy

this makes me sick. This is exactly why there is no more golden earthworn run like the old days. I can't remember the last time I even saw a worm over 7" long.

I agree. When I was a kid you could catch em all day long during the run. Now I'm lucky get one big enough to use as bait. Very Happy

Heard a local warden say that hawgs have caused the decline in those big goldens.
