On the pier at 5:30 this morning to set up the slide rigs in hopes the kings would come through, no such luck today. With pin fish and mullet as the avalible bait, the reds showed up and were ready to eat until the wind picked up. A few were caught on lures and plugs, but most were caught on the slide rigs with live bait spashing on top. The reds have been there in schools since last thursday that I know of. From what I've seen they have been cruising the front to south corner of the pier. I caught 10 today with the biggest being 27 inches and probably seen 40 caught. By the way, watch out for all the treble hooks flying over your head and buzzing by your ears.

i was out there the 6th set up at the first south side light from the T and about 3am 4 guys hit a big school of slot reds. they were pulling them up left and right limited out in about 45 min. im pretty sure they caught more than their limit cuz i wasnt watching the whole time but the fish i saw come up totaled a limit, and they ran a chest of fish to the truck then kept fishing

i used to call them when i saw something serious...but every time i have called, they took so long to respond the people got away. i have seen many oriental people keep chingos of undersized reds and they never showed up when i call...

That's a shame. I've called before and it took about 45 min for them to get out there.

Number saved on my phone too. As a Disabled Vet I have no fear of calling - I lost fear of almost anything in Nam.
