Bob Hall is a great spot for kings at times, and you can also get them at times at the end of Packery Jetty. About the closest place to get shrimp would be at Clem's or Marker 37 though if you have an aerator or livewell, just zip in to the Cos-way or Bait Bucket on the way out.

Geographicly Billings would be the closest.

Hey John this is Nate from fishing on BHP last tuesday -

that weather window we had sure was nice on mon tuesday - been waiting to go try slideling again, but that damn wind....
as far as netting live shrimp, I've heard you can find them in small "creeks" and sloughs, I know I've cast net them up near rockport where a small creek feeds into a bay, so I'd think the same thing could be done here, but not sure where... maybe on the back side of the island somewhere past packery channel? I'm not a shrimper but I'd love to know where to net live shrimp too, as I just bought a huge cast net w/ a 10' radius....I'll ask around about the shrimp too you sparked my interest -

looks like we might get a break from the wind toward the end of the week. I plan on slidelining for kings on thursday, come on down if you can manage it .Hopefully we'll need some gaffing help.

Na Ton D, In texas there is a 7ft maximum radius on cast nets. See below:

Cast Net:
A net that can be hand-thrown over an area.
May be used to take NONGAME fish and shrimp only.
May not be greater than 14 feet in diameter.
In SALT WATER, nongame fish may be taken for bait purposes only

Could it be you have a 5ft radius and 10ft diameter net? May get expensive if you have an oversize net.

Good luck on catching shrimp.
