|
|
| I just put 300 yards of 100# braid on my penn. And I have 50# fluro leader that I need to tie on but the uni to uni is too big to fit through the guide on my reel. And the reverse albright wen I tightend it the fluro slipped right through. Anybody know somethin I dont or have knots that u use that work. Im using the fluro as my shock leader. |

If those don't work, try the earthworm knot. _________________

| easy one to tie is the double- uni and very stroung, cause its essentially two uni knots end to end....you can make it even tougher by doubling your line back on each end before tying. |

| Most of the guys I know use the PR knot for yellowfin tuna when attaching braid to fluorocarbon. It takes a little while to learn and is not a very fast knot to tie. You can also look into buying a tool called a bobbin to help tie this knot. Improved albright is easier to tie and works ok when tied correctly. That being said I tie on a PR or use loop to loop wind-on leaders whenever I can. |

For light tackle fishing, double uni knots is simple and works very well. The braid companies recommend uni knots and palomar knots. |

Ask IMS. There was a thread here last year where he discussed a similar know to the double uni, but could be done in less than 20 seconds and is a very tight/efficient knot. I call it the Double IMS. _________________

| sebile knot is great for distance casting as knot goes thru guides reel smooth. for verticle deep drop jigging, go with the red phillips knot or double uni...both knots are strong... |

Get rid of the braid, and put on some Jerry Brown hollow core, and then have it spliced in. _________________ Slow and steady wins the race...unless of course, it's an actual race. |

X 2. and what I do is burn the tag end of the mono and make a sort of half blob knot half albright. Tyler posted instructions on the blob knot somewhere. do a search for "Tyler" and "Blob", LOL
