Have some friends up here getting transferred to Washington state next month so wanted to get them a gift that keeps on giving for their going away party last night. Since they will be living next to Orca watching waters, eagles, etc. I decided on a set of 10X binoculars. Got online with BassPro Shops, we have one up here in OKC, and reviewed the offerings. Found what I wanted and headed over there. I was only looking for the compact 10x27s they had at about $40. When I got there I found a package deal of the 10x27 plus 10 x 50 RedHeads, can't vouch for quality yet, plus canvas carry cases for each, neck straps, and lens cleaning pen(?) for $49.9something. Stepped around the corner of that rack and the 10 x 50s, same set, are $90 a pair, and the 10 x 27s are $40 a pair. $130 deal for $50. Headed to the check counter and thought better of it, went back and got me and my wife a set, too. We'll have new eyes for the beach this summer! Checked out the 1/4 moon tonight and the view was pretty spectacular for the price paid out of either set. Thought some of you might be interested. I did NOT remember seeing that deal on line, so you might have to visit a store to get them.
