A nice guy new to the area PM'd me and we hit the ULM today. Fishing was rather slow. I found the bite early but wanted to show him a number of areas to fish. Worked our way from Pita to boathole. Caught a bunch of dink but only 6 keeper trout. Averaged out to about 1 per hour. Probably would have caught more if we stayed at my 2 min. honey-hole but wanted to show him the area. Caught trout on a number of different baits. Used the old stand-bys root beer, red/white shrimp tail as well as bright pink, chicken on a chain, oil under a cajun thunder, and a bone topwater.
Wind kept switching directions on us. I think that's what led to less fish being caught than the last few days. |
