It appears Joe Cotten's has burned down. Only place I felt comfortable about spending $15 on lunch after a fishn trip.

Say it ain't so! Damn, it is.

http://www.kristv.com/news/joe-cotton-s-bbq-in-robstown-on-fire/

I was talking to the wife the other day about taking her there. She grew up in town in Corpus and never had been there. I was trying to explain how it was real BBQ - not this chain restuatant stuff.

My grandpa was good friends with Joe, and we had dinner there all the time, back before the expansion. When I was working at UBS down there, I met my farm clients there for lunch all the time. The richest man I ever met (a cllient), I met for lunch there the first time. You would never know by looking at him that he was worth anything at all.

All the people in there were just good, down to earth people.

Going to miss that place.

Well maybe the wood pile that never burned finally caught on fire. JK
.
.it was a family favorite but the food quality had gone down over the years.

Holy c#$p. I hope no one was injured. That was definitely a Texas landmark.

I know there were some rough times between the Mr. and the Mrs. a bit back. I hope they recover and all remains well.
