New to the forum and im happy i found it.
I have a couple question and i hope they aren't ones that has already been asked.
Is BHP still open? cause i recently heard about the new construction collapse.
What hours is the pier open?
Whats the cost to get on the peir or how do they charge you?
Is it usually crowded on weekend? we aren't pros and dont want to bother anyone.
Whats the best place to catch some mullet near by? |

I'm no expert but here's some help. welcome to the forum.
bob hall pier is open 24/7 cost for 24 hrs is about 1.00 + 1.00 per pole.
new construction is an addition off one side of restaurant and doesn't affect pier use or fishing. many cast net off pier for bait. i use a sabicki rig. hopefully some of the regulars will answer with more info. _________________ ccbobber |

| First off, welcome to the board! I'm no pro but I do have a couple of tips that might help! I you are going to cast net for bait off of the pier, make sure that you attach a rope to the end of the original cast net rope so you can actually reach the water. You can also just wade for bait in the local bays or just anywhere in the surf. Or you can do as ccbobber said and use a sabiki rig for perch, blue runners and anything else that may hit it. It helps to use Shrimp on it. You could actually get into non-junk fish such as reds and spadefish. The people at the end of the pier usually take it up with their shark, macks and tarpon rods. Most of the time, they are very nice people and can give you good pointers. I hope that this can help you! Good luck and post a report if you do any good! |

| we live in houston area and since hurricane ike took out our piers we have been semi regulars. we are seniors so we get on th pier with sometimes 8 rods and a cast net and it has never cost us more than 8 dollars for the 2 of us. we enjoy our time there. when our kids were little in the 1990s we used to come with them about once a yr. we will be hte old couple out with the umbrella and everything but the kitchen sink. we have caught some very nice fish and have not had any problems with anyone. |
