They have a dragline at the end of Carribean behind the skate park. I heard something about a new ramp or eiher boat slips going in. Anyone have anything else? _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| When I was doing the Electrical on all of the Boat Slips at Bluffs Landing, I was told the same group of guys that bought the property that was HAPS, that is now Bluffs Landing also bought the boat ramp at Tropic Isles and that Peninsula where the old ramp was over by the Old Red Coburns Marine, which is where the Skate Park is now. I really don't know if there is any truth to that. They were talking about doing the same thing as Bluffs Landing there as well. Just My O2. CMH |

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks they want to funnel all the non-island business to Bluff's Landing. _________________

There is still a For Sale sign up at the ramp bollards that block people from going in there. _________________ -STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS!- |

yep I did about 25 to be infact. However I did repair welding for a number of officals that lived in tropic isles. That is the best ramp around. However I'm not talking about that ramp. I'm talking about the property behind the skate park. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| I spoke with Red Coburn at Academy a couple of months back and he mentioned he had sold that property to some investors out of Austin. He said they mentioned there would be development there but no details. Red used to pay my brother and I a penny a piece for all the shrimp we could push up for him about 38 yrs ago. ha ha, Good ole fun Bluff summers. |

I saw Red today, I'll have to talk to him about it. I think he has gone up to 2 cents on the shrimp. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Ah Memories, I worked for Red, his daughter and son back in 1975. he had me assembling boats and trailers out of old junk. I was watching his son one day, he was pull starting a small outboard in the ramp, it started, he reved it up, shifted it into reverse, he had not tightened the clamps. I almost fell into the water! I was LMAO when the motor jumped off of the boat and into the water. the old channel was so silted in that he had a heck of time finding the motor.
Sorry! I didn't mean to jack the thread. I just started laughing when I saw Red's name. |
