What if we could fix stupid?????? nevermind that would be no fun.

Like the time I saw a 2wd f350 in the SURF. Waves hitting the back windshield. He was BACKED in launching his 2 jet skiis/wave runners.
Then a 4x4 pick up got stuck in the surf trying to pull the 1st truck out. A total of 3 trucks stuck!!!! A roll-back tow truck pulled up and he had a grin from ear to ear. He Just hit the damn lottery..

He got them out with no problem. Come to find out it was a group of highschool kids in daddy's truck... Mad ... Bet daddy had a BIG bill on that one Razz Razz

Haha the driving was great all the way down pins this weekend...if you knew how to drive going around that camp was no big deal WHATSOEVER! Plus from the pics it looks like many other vehicles have passed between the black avalance and the camp and prolly did it just fine. So go practice driving your new 4x4 some more...lol

I would recomend taking the low road with a WSPS system installed!

But only after asking them nicely to move!

Stupid is when fisherman come back from pins to within 3 miles of the asphalt and think the waterline is still the road though families and children are everywhere. The road is not through peoples picnic areas.

Your picnic area should not be in the middle of a road, there's a high and low road, set your camp up in the middle like 90% of people do if that's your concern. When you are close to the blacktop there is plenty of good sand everywhere so I agree you shouldn't have to drive close to camps around there. We always drive slow around camps either way.

We went up to the 30mm that day and driving was great except at that exact spot where that camp was set up in a bottleneck area. Oh and the 4x4 is fairly new but we aren't new driving it at PINS, just two of us in the truck have over 30 years experience combined driving on that beach. Also experience shouldn't matter, neither should your vehicle if it's a 4x4, why do you think the park has these specific rules? Do you think it's ok to set up your camp in a way that only the experienced 4x4 drivers with the best setups can pass by you? You can either prevent other people from getting stuck or make it that much easier for everyone else to get by just by moving your truck 10 feet out of the way or moving your poles at the waters edge, apparently some people think this is too difficult.

You know if I did got stuck on account of an idiot I would be pretty heated. I see your point. I blocked a road once when I got overheated and my radiator blew up. No one got mad that time that time. I just looked like a jackass. My brother in law fixed it with a buddy on the beach. Its a good thing he bailed me out, I would have been screwed.

Normally we would have taken a different action after this but we had guests with us so I had to gun it to make it through the soft sand to go around them, thankfully we didn't get stuck.

I always leave room but I still piss some people off. No matter what anyone does, someone will always get angry. And when I get angry I don't take out their lines or day dream about beating them up. I hate that attitude. I just go on my way. Why do we feel the need to punish people? I'm not the judge and jury. Yea it sucks when people block the road like those jerks did, but I've been the jerk before and didn't think so, and chances are so have you and everyone else who fishes PINS regularly. I guess what I mean is, who the hell cares who blocked the road on your way south, what did yall catch?

Eric

Well it's not about punishing people it's about potentially getting stuck and damaging my vehicle. All they needed to do was park their truck parallel to the water to leave room for trucks to pass. It's not an inconvenience, it's a good chance of getting stuck because they're not following the park rules. We didn't catch much just a whiting and from the other people we talked to it seemed it was mostly whiting on PINS today. Also the last time we had to go around a group like this we did get stuck in 4X4, no reason to completely block one road.

if you're worried about gettin stuck....take the high road from the 18 to the 25....that's what i've done for years and not had a problem....
don't know why anybody would run that section low, unless the tide was wayyyy out.

you cant fix stupid..

But this might be something espenstupido can take care of.. I mean the Nice Stuperintendant of PINS.. ooppss.. cant type anymore..

But most park rangers are pretty nice and cool.. and have noticed that they have been running a greater portion of the beach. Have them enforce some type of realistic parking and camp set up.. It appears that the tide is moving out, that can explain the pole and gear set up, but vehicle access is a must, safety and for emergency purposes. I may be in violation from time to time, we all can admitt that to some degree but try to be mindful of other beach goes..

this can be fixed or enforced.. I have had a friend get a 250 fine for the dog getting out of the vehicle to go to the restroom and them get a fine because the ranger was right there when it happend.. ok not on pins but still on the beach.. no warning..
I am not soliciting fines.. but if you dont listen and cause a problem, well then a fine might be what is needed.
even 4x4 get stuck in the soft stuff and it is no fun when some one stupid is be inconciderate.
enough on my 2cents..
