I have 186 days off next year and pins will only let me use the park for 56.

Please note that a 14-day camping limit is in effect at all camping areas. At the end of 14 days, campers must vacate their site and leave the park for a minimum of 48 hours before returning to camp. The total number of days spent camping in the park should not exceed 56 calendar days per year, in any combination of visits or consecutive nights.

from my experience camping in national parks, that is a pretty standard rule. i think it gives them something to keep people from living in the parks.

I think its a good idea (but I rarely camp there) should be the same SBHP, some are living there!

That sounds reasonable to me. But I don't live close enought to spent that much time there. 15 to 20 days would be great if Icould get down there that much.

You might try Padre Balli Park. When we were there at Thanksgiving they had upgraded their system to allow for reservations and monthly rates. We pretty much stay there all summer, 8 weeks last year and never were told we had to leave.

Back in Sept. 08 I was toying around with the idea of doing my own little 'Man Vs Wild' experience on PINS...being dropped off at the jetty with a multi-tool and make my way back to the blacktop on foot....just to see what would happen and how long I would last....long story. Anyway, I emailed the Super of my plans and was told about the 14 day camping limit. Apparently it is something they enforce, which is good.
