Got back to town yesterday after a great Thanksgiving family roundup in Austin. I am blessed to have most of my family still around to share these occations with.
Headed out about nine this morning to find the tide somewhat higher than it's been. Had to turn around and seek other fishing grounds as my first choice was inaccessible due to high water. Headed over to my second choice. Wind had picked up by the time I got there. Did not see any finger mullet but managed to net one 11" mullet. Absolutely no sign of feeding activity. Birds were all on the ground.
Set off and tossed some lures into some deeper water and hooked up with a couple of small trout. Ended up on some short grass sandy areas where the water was moving around a point and baited up with some mullet pieces. Water was about 2 to 3 feet deep. Wasn't too terribly long before the reds showed up and began to play.
Soft bite on most of the fish I caught, but they were feisty enough when they realized they were in a pickle.
Brought these home and released about five others.
The largest was tickling the 28" mark
Back to work tomorrow. _________________ WORK TO LIVE, LIVE TO FISH
