I need to update the report page but have not heard a thing in weeks. Maybe Packery is becoming the spot to be for those who used to only have the pier.

You may be on to something. The surf-side of SPJ was the proverbial elbows-to-elbows yesterday after lunch.

Not much happenin' in the channel, as the "cool" fronts seemed to have chased off a number of different "spear-able" species.

lots of redfish on live finger mullet, live or dead. Spansh macks all day long, small sharks, pomps on fish bites, still catching a few kings on slides.

I headed down from Austin on the 13th and arrived at Bob Hall around 4pm. The fishing started slow with only one pup shark and a few whitting btw 4pm and 9pm. Around 9pm i started talking with some guys who seemed to have the trout fishing down with live shrimp and poping corks. They offered to show me how they were doing it and even shared their shrimp. After that it was on. I caugth 4 keeper trout all btw 16" and 20" and many more undersized. Many thanks to Alex and his younger brother for hooking me up. I selpt for about 2hrs and once the sun started coming out i was back at it. The morning and afternoon would only yeild more whitting and 1 pompano. But once the sun started coming down the reds would show up. Around 6pm i caught my first red of the trip. I would measure right at 28'. A few other people caught reds that were next to me. All the reds were caught on live mullet. The reds would eventually show up again around 3 AM till the sun came out. Once the sun came out the bite died. For the evening and the night I caught 3 slot reds. And lost 2 reds. My buddy caught 2 more slot reds. So all together we caught a total of 5 reds, 4 specks, 1 sand trout, 1 pompano, and numerous whitting. October fishing down on the coast is about as good as it gets. Here are a few pics from the trip. Enjoy

Redfish10,

Are you the fellas from Robstown? If so then I'm sure it was you. Hey what was the website you telling about that you use to order your rods?
