The Mrs. had to work yesterday during the heavy rain and was parked in the uncovered lot all day. When she started to come home she shut the driver door and the rear window caved in (2005 Acura TL) She said the window was fine when she went to work etc. No obvious things and the alarm was not on as if someone tried to break it to get in.

Anyhow USAA insurance is sending out a Safelite mobile unit to repair it. It is under the cost of my deductible too at 230 bucks - Thanks USAA

flaw in the glass is the most likely reason.

that flaw sure hung in there for a while (2005 Acura)

I've seen temp changes do that but we didn't have any extreme temp changes, probably a rock shatter while it was parked and when she closed the door it gave way.

My mom was driving my dad's 04 escalade down the freeway in 07 in dallas. On the phone with my dad and she heard glass shatter and it freaked her out.. The back window exploded on the escalade.. She thought she was shot at.. Anyhow the dealer didn't know what to say as the glass held together because of the tint.. they replaced the glass and called it factory flaw.. I would say rock chip too but on the back window who knows? Iv seen weirder things. And like you said sometimes things take time to show there face.. Temp/ humidity change maybe ? Or maybe she hit a curb and whacked the alignment. Which could put the rear glass in a bind.. so many things could cause it.. If you have to pay for the glass entirely let me know Tyler.. AS this is corpus and I do have a guy for just about everything. I just put a new windshield on my womens maxima and my guy did it for 115 installed.. best of luck

Maybe the Mrs. just had a real bad day at work, and shut the door a little too hard.
