I never had one or fished out of one....
That said...
They have been around a long time. They had a contract with the government at one time supplying the USCG with boats. If I remember correctly TPWD used to run some of them too. I used to see lots of them at POC back in the 80's. Built like a whaler with a foam core between a fiberglass hull and a fiberglass deck. I believe they won't sink like the whaler. They are good solid boats. |

Actually it's McKee Craft and they are unsinkable. Here is a link to the classic 16' boat that is like the Boston Whaler Montauk. This is the same boat that the Coast Guard and TPWD uaed to run.

| They're not that great for running in shallow water. Float in a foot or so. They're better than most other boats in rough water. |

Thanks my father found a 83 modek 18' McKee craft with a 140hp evenrude for 3,000 I think he said and was courious as to if it was worth it. The boat and moter have both been taken excelent care of and the moter has been rebuilt. _________________ Shane |
