Waited for this area to develop for 2 hrs this evening. The birds are sittin on a bar that stops short of the next bar by about 20 ft. It made a great channel & then spills into a nice deep cool hole to the left. Looked textbook perfect. 7 pm rolls around & it goes off. Mainly skips but there were plenty of trout & redfish too. Caught my 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th topwater surf reds ever in that hole & 4 nice trout in about 30 mins. All fish were released.

Having a big time. Go to the truck to do maintenance on skipjack frayed line & get potlicked. I'm 22 f'n miles up SPI on a Tuesday eve, which is nothing in PINS terms but it's a long way here. Nobody for miles around when these sheboygan heads show up. The idiot standing in the water where the trout were even asked me if I caught any trout. I said "yep.... till you guys got here." He did say he was sorry but it was way past too late then. Thanks for walking on my fish. I hope you read this board.

Headed home a bit pissed but at least there's always something to be caught with the camera.

Beautiful sunset pictures. The one of that fat supple bum standing in your trout hole is kinda ugly.

Way to go waiting for that area to go off. Love the pic of the pelicans waiting with you! Very Happy

Those Nikon D90's sure take good pictures. Too bad there are no GPS coordinates stored in there. Very Happy

Wow that does suck! Pretty pics though. That's three more reds than I have got on topwaters in the surf. They really seem to like spoons, and soft plastics over the topwaters. I think mainly because they usually are deeper in the surf than they are when you get them on top in the bay so maybe their "Upper lookers" don't work as well. Very Happy

Great report. Thanks.
Not sure if the potlicker was stupid - just inconsiderate. But that's even harder to fix.

Nikon makes a gps you can plug into the camera if you wish to spend more money on photog stuff. But I don't mind sharing as long as you don't step on the fish. The trout & reds were right next to the bank. It was 22.4 miles up from access 6. Can't miss it, looks like there should be a fish here sign on it. There were plenty for all 3 of us.

You are correct Chef, great all around camera.

A few more from this summer.

Been looking for an excuse to post this one

No pony tails. The guy I very briefly talked to was nice enough & like I said he did apologize. I was still a little heated when I wrote the post. I probably shouldn't call him an idiot either but... one thing does bother me. If he knows enough to apologize what the hell are you doing there? All you gotta do is say there sure is a lot of splashing goin on here. Do you mind if we squeeze in? Problem solved.

Because it's easier to apologize than to pass up a chance to take some fish home for pictures, etc,

Just goes to show one should always read entire story.

I read subject of SPI Potlickin and see a bunch of brown pelicans in a picture.

I thought Rob was telling on himself.

Perhaps lesson learned by those guys for the next time.
