Launched the kayak from Kraatz this morning around 0600 and headed to the shoreline straight across from the launch. We drifted/waded along that shoreline, following it north and around the point throwing topwaters with five or six blow ups but no hookups. Switched to a gulp shrimp and bounced it through a few potholes with no takers. We ran into a good sized school of trout as we headed west along the shoreline, managing to catch five or six in the 12-13" range on a chartreuse speck rig and a green and red paddletail. We also managed to catch a small drum and another small trout on our way back. The drum was on a shrimp under a popping cork and the trout was on a gold jig that reminds me of a Kastmaster. We were off the water about 1230 or so.

Planning on going out tomorrow morning, as well. Does anyone have any advice on where to go? I was debating between heading towards Drum Point or Site 55. Has anyone fished the rocks north of Kraatz, Neubauer Point I think I've heard it called? I need to get a Hook n Line map. Any advice on where to head tomorrow will be greatly appreciated! If anyone else is interested in going tomorrow, drop me a line.

the rocks @ neubauer hold fish year 'round. it's kinda hit and miss though. some big fish have been caught there this year... give it a shot.

I didn't make it out Sunday, as the honey-do list took precedence over fishing both days on the weekend. Going to try and sneak out one day during the week if I can swing it. Thanks for the info on the rocks!
