|
|
| If I am not mistaken the annual run of Golden Croaker from the bays to the Gulf should start relatively soon. Where are the prime spots to fish for these little tasty jewels in the Corpus to Port A area?? When should be the prime time for the run to occur in this area. |

| An outdoor / fishing paper I get at the grocery store for free indicates that TP&W is predicting a "significant" run this year. |

I once tore them up one the north fishpass jetty, not far from the beach on the north side. BIG ones, the biggest croaker that I ever saw!!!! There was a nice eddy right where the jetty and beach come together inside the first bar. I caught a fish almost every cast on dead shrimp. Great memory, and it was about this time of year too! _________________ Dave

We caught about 150 of them back in 1977 at the north fish pass jetty on the surfside, too. We used to find them there in October. What memories. _________________

| IF they run, the humble channel has been good in the past. Either pier is usually good for them IF they are running. |

| Love the optimism on this board - seriously. I hope predictions are true but I'm not holding my breath. |

| The Lone Star Outdoor News newspaper which came out this week has an article that indicates that the TPW Coastal Fisheries Division reports that 2009 and 2010 have been "Massive Croaker survival years (especially in the Sabine/Galveston areas) and that they predict an excellent run of Croakers in Sept-Nov. The prime croaker areas are expected to be the Galveston Bay system, Rollover Pass and Sabine Lake areas, with good catches all the way down to the Lower Laguna Madre. Sound yummy to me. |
