Went out early this AM to the Packery Bridge and did pretty well. I caugt two trout 18" and 21". And my fishing buddy caught his personal best, 28". Freelineing shrimp and catching the current right was the ticket. Pics attached.

| since we are not from the area and we mostly fish at bob hall, i have become curious about the packery channel area that is shown here. is it the area that is between the road going to port aransas from padre island. we go across the bridge there when we go to bob hall after getting bait in port a . would that area be alright for senior citizens to go to. would there be a place where we can have chairs and an umbrella. i can not stand very long because of arthritis adn the heat is hard on me |

Yes if you are coming from Port a that little dirt road to the right will put you by the bridge. If it weren't crowded you might be able to put a chair that but most times you really need to be able to stand and work around especially if freelining shrimp because the current can be pretty strong through there. I It is often very crowded. |

I think it will depend on which side you wanna fish from. Carrying your stuff might be a problem if you have to park kinda far away especially if you are wanting to fish right underneath the bridge. Them rocks can be troublesome too. Some folks park pretty close to the water and get a pretty good set up. One day just park and see how the regulars do it. It's a popular spot for many so do not be surprised of the crowd.
