I recently attended a rod building class in houston and i'm interested in building rods for my family and friends. Do any of you rod builders have pictures of your work area or bench, cause I need ideas in how to get started. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Eli

Thanks for the help and panthera the class was great. I learned the basics on the first day and they showed us some more advanced stuff on the second day. I'm gonna order a dryer and a couple of rod kits so that i can start building some rods. I already cleared a side of the garage to start on my work bench.

One thing to consider when using a garage as a rod building shop is the inability to control climate inside the garage.
Heat and humidity can have a negative effect on the epoxy curing properly.
More than likely you'll sweat when it gets hot, causing oils from your hands to transfer onto the rod threads which can also prevent epoxy from curing properly.
Having a small fan pointed at your hands while wrapping helps a little.

I've have a decent set up in my garage, but wish it was inside my home instead.

Thanks to everyone for the input and those were some nice pics of your work station stevebait2. I can't wait to get my equipment from mud hole so that I can start on my custom rods. My first custom rod will be for my dad cuz he is the one that got me into fishing when I was around 4yrs old and took me fishing as much as he could. Since he retires this month we plan on him fishing with my family and I alot more.

Thanks
