IMS is headed that way this weekend. Dinner at Cheuy's Friday nite, then maybe some crazy bbq on Sat. nite. I will take in Cabelas while the bride takes on the outlet stores. Happy Valentines weekend. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Dangit IMS, I'll be passing you on 37 on the way down to corpus!
Have fun in Austin. Hard to find a bargain at Cabelas, but I like the store anyway. And what's that plate they have at Chuy's. . . . blue corn enchiladas topped with a fried egg. MMMMmmmmmmm. But I think the tex mex in CC is better.
But not BBQ. So many good joints to choose from in Austin. Sam's on the eastside, House Park around 12th street, Ironworks, and Ruby's (Not RuDy's) on the drag. . . even the BBQ in the Whole Foods is good. _________________ Jeff

I'am a tourist when in Austin, thats just part of keeping it wierd. The food at Cheuys ain't half bad....especially when you are getting "the hook up".
Damn Frayed...thats all I can say. I like the shirts at Cabelas, the heavy duty canvas type. The weather going to suck all week on the coast. It will probably suck up there to, buts its time for a quick getaway, so who cares. COME ON FRIDAY. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Well, have fun IMS! Tell your youngest I said hey. I've been meaning to stop in and say hello, but I'm rarely in that part of town.
Yeah, weather is supposed to be rotten. Like you, I just need to get out of town for a weekend. Kids have Friday and Monday off. _________________ Jeff

Take it from a longtime austinite, if you want good BBQ go the Salt Lick in Driftwood. It's not too far from Cabela's, maybe 10 miles west of Buda. They used to have a babyback rib plate on sundays that was super good, will even fill up the likes of IMS. They have a new location out by the Dell Diamond if you're out that way.
Chuy's does have some good eats too, I always get the tortillia soup, best in town. |

IMS,
There goes the neighborhood...lol....
Chuys is always good, especially with the hookup Good verde sauce.
If you end up in the north end of town, go to Smokey Mo's BBQ. They have a couple of locations, just small little joints but the food is awesome and the sauce (especially the hot variety) rocks.
Otherwise, Ironworks and Rubys are good. I like the Ribs/chicken at Stubbs too.
Or try Frayeds sushi joint Mushoshino.
Sadly, no fish worth fryin up here 'cept the 22" drum I brought b aack after I caught it off the dock this weekend. Although, up on the lake theres a summer restaurant called Cafe Blue and they have a great tortilla crusted redfish, but they aren't open yet.
take care... if you're planning on patronizing any watering holes lemme know and maybe we'll venture out of the North Bluff (aka Lago Vista).
