Just a suggestion... When you mount the new rod holders, I would not attach them to the steel mesh like the exiting holders look like they are attached.

I have never used braid line on a spinning reel.

I am gonna try out using 65# braid line on a long rod spinning set-up in the surf. I typically use a heavier mono 50- 60# shock leader when using 1 ...

I also heard that on Tuesday there will be spreading of Jim's ashes in the surf with an Air Force flyover. I don't know yet when or where this is to be done.

Put them in wet sand at the waterline. Then suck em down with your mouth. Works pretty much anywhere there are no big shells.

IMO

Smaller whiting = bait at camp.

Good sized whiting = ceviche or spicy fish tacos at the house.
