I've been coming down and fishing PA North Jetty for sheephead in March-April for many years but it seems the last 5 or so the keeper fish are far and few between.

I haven'e been in Laguna since October but in Nueces there is also a spoil island that was taken by the tides and wind.
You talking about the little one in the back NW part of the bay? |

Nothing huge, but we generally get one or two annually from CCB within casting distance from Ocean drive about 3' long.

Just because there is an 80% increase in hours allowed (as stated by the original post) does not necessarily mean there is an 80% increase in use. I'd think TPWD has certainly considered this.
