as a suggestion to the heavy hold after a few hours, maybe consider a mount on boat with a sliding lockable collar . seems like it should work. ideas don't always work but it may help.

My wife and i did the same, lots of spades and jacks as well. It was a sad sight to see the reds. I hope the incoming front will clear the red tide quickly.

Yeah, make sure they get the year round license. Doesn't make sense to buy the one that will expire at the end of August.
