I like this one of a water hauler on S. Padre:

Great site, Larry. Check out the fishing pictures. I like the one with the shark on the beach and the one titles "Fishing." The rest of the library is a treasure of Texas life right after WWI. _________________ Magic |

I did a search of fishing and came up with the shark photos Magic mentioned as well as some of a "June Fish" from 1926. Actually the recently renamed Goliath Grouper. I think everyone and their dog posed next to the beast as if they caught it.
Thanks!

Sawfish, I believe. A type of shark, or in the family, that is. You still hear reports of people seeing them in the San Louis Pass area...........Kyle _________________ I fish, therefore, I am................Happy! |

| i worked on an old guys house in corpus who was showing me some pictures of back in the day. he had a picture of him in the paper from like 60 something with a huge goliath grouper he speared on some rig in the gulf. and he was also telling me about all the tarpon they used to catch in the italian bend area back when he was a kid fishing with his grandpa in the 30's and 40's i think. he also told me about fishing for snook when they were abundant. pretty cool old man lots of fish stories with pictures to prove it. |
