PINS 1/7 and 1/8

Well it was spur of the moment but we rounded up the posse and headed out. Weather was supposed to be nice….

Hit the sand after making all the stops around 1 am. Driving was slow and bumpy due to the higher than normal tides. We stopped at this little dune that we could pull behind on the beach around the 21 about 2:15 am.

After some needed rest we woke to okay conditions but it was cloudy and cold. I put out some fishbites in the first gut. Mean while Jeff yakked out a small ray on the 6 wide.

It was only minutes and both lines were loaded with weed. We reeled up and headed further south. On the way we stopped and talked to an older gentleman. His buddy had a nice red on the beach. No weed and we were at the 27 so we headed to about the 31mm.
Where we found a nice cut and the water was not as muddy.

We made camp and I got some finger mullet out not long and fish on. I land this nice 17inch flounder.

Here is Jeff getting ready to yak baits out.

Here is the bait that was rigged for my 9/0

Here is Yankee getting ready to yak a ray out on the 14/0.

I pick up some nice slot reds. 2 solid 21 inchers and then this nice 26 inch red. That was all of the action.

None of the shark baits were picked up. Next time you see Yankee as him about his first yak outing in over a year. He deployed his bait into the deepest part of the wade gut.
The weather was getting colder and windier. Tide was high and we headed off the beach.
All had a good time. Lots of laughs with friends and time on the beach.

Until Next time!!!

Thanks for the report! I think I saw you guys coming out on Saturday. We were in GoinCoastals Dodge Dakota with the Blue Ride on top. Didn't recognize Yankee. Did he take his truck? That flounder is rare at least in the surf not close to wrecks and or jetties. I have yet to catch one in the surf though my son got a 20 incher there several years ago and my pal Rob got one on a 51M mirrolure last winter.

Lets put it this way on the the wade gut event, it was 12' deep and 8' breakers LOL. But yes there will be video release soon on where to place your bait for the Great White Shark in the wade gut. It really goes to show you when you use other people's gear that your not use to you end up in the wade gut. The current was ripping and the strong north wind did not help either.
