|
|
As the subjuct line says, I am a newbie to surf fishing. I was down at Fish Pass two months ago and say a guy land a shark, I shot some pics of him fighting in and landing, ect. This sparked my intrest to say the least. I already had a couple of mid-weight spinning rods that I had taken on other surf trips, but never had very good luck.
So last week my wife and I headed down to PINS to do a little surfing. On out way down I stopped in Port A and bought a used Penn 3/0 Senator and rod. The surf was great the first couple of days, then a small cold front blew through and things went flat. That is when I started fishing and the fun began down @ MM 59. I ended up catching some slot reds, legal reds, pompono, a mackrel, several mystery fish (I just didn't know what they were), and two Blacktip Sharks. Both sharks were released.
Needless to say, I am HOOKED!!!! I have also since put together another 3/0 rod and a 6/0 rod.
Cheers

|
|
The photos you posted somehow got turned into billboards for porn ads so I deleted them. You might have a spyware program doing that. When we used the old CGI script for the message board there was one spyware program that added porno links at the bottom when folks with that particular spyware would make a post.
Try downloading Adaware and run it on your computer
Here is the link to get a free copy

You might also try
Spybot Search and Destroy

I have both.

Skipjack and Waverider -
I moved to Needville (SW of Houston and near Matagorda Bay) from Lewisville last August. Its was a six or so hour drive from Dallas/Fort Worth. What a change it was from freshwater fishing....that is for sure! First time I went out into the surf with one of my spinning lake rods, the salt immediately began attacking the reel! When I returned home, it was washed in soap and water, lubed and oiled and I took it back out into the salt a few days later....Within five casts it became almost impossible to crank the handle -- even after I had it working like brand new! _________________ "I just got a new fly-fishing rod and reel for my wife. You're gonna find out reel quick how far you live from the good surf(pins), I did, and I'm much closer than you. I'm working on a new carreer now so maybe I'll be in CC before too long. Good luck, and nice releases...............Kyle _________________ I fish, therefore, I am................Happy! |

Unfortunatly I have had to deal with that reality for too long. Since I started surfing in '99 I have made that drive dozens of times a year. Every time my wiife and I are back down on the beach, we spend half the time trying to formulate a way to get closer. One day.............
