headed to fish pass early saturday in hopes that drd would be right about the weather for once. well it was a nice except for the howling north wind that was supposed to be calm, but anyway we made the best of it. not much biting and no bait running, but my father in laws brother caught a rat red and a 28" red.(picutred here with his 28" red)
i left fish pass disappointed first trip out that i didn't catch any reds there.
so we headed to the south jetty in port a. more howling wind and noone really catching anything. went to stationst pier where there was people catching flounder everywhere, so we headed to the bait stands looking for mud minnows. nobody had any minnows. after about 30 minutes of fishing the pier without no luck and watching the people fishing the back of the condo next door pull out fat stringers of flounder we left. stopped at crab man marina and finally found some mud minnows and fished the aransas pass channel and caught 2 14" flounder. that ended the day and we headed home. not our usual haul of fish, but it was something. |
