Got 2 flats at the same time on new tires this morning, had to change one but thanks to some fix a flat stuff was able to make it off the beach. Idiot, I was looking too hard for Jacks & not where I was driving.
Surf is still a bit big, tons of north current down here. Not happy about 2 flats so I gave up on Jack road hunting, netted a few finger mullet and just soaked bait.... started workin on a 9:30 am pissed off Flour Bluff Stout. Didn't get 1/2 of the stout down when the long rod goes off, but it stopped, then went off again, then stopped, blah blah. Gotta be a ray the way this morning is going. Watched it go off a couple more times, had another swig of the Stout and went to deal with the ray.
After about 15 mins I figured this is the biggest damn ray I've ever been unfortunate enough to hook. SOB took me a good 300 yds north with that current & never let up. Had to walk out to the first bar just to have a chance of getting more line back before I cut it. Could not get that ray over the first bar so I got as close as I could to cut the line...... that's when I got the first glimpse of the awesome beast.
It was a beauty 19" TV/VCR combo. Sucker went 14 lbs I bet. My lucky day. I've caught 2 whiting at once but never a TV & VCR at the same time. Man what a lucky guy I am. The fight was very long and brutal, I guess the sharks must have eaten it's back cover off during the fight so I lugged it on in for photo ops. Wouldn't have brought it all the way in and killed it but since the sharks already ate it's back cover I didn't think it would make it. Pretty rare catch I think. I have no idea how to clean a TV/VCR combo so I just left it for the gulls.
I'm sure PETA will be all over me. Just didn't have the patience after a crappy morning to figure out how to fillet it correctly. Punched the power button about 5 times but no football. Gulls can have it.
Hope everybody's fishing weekend was better than mine! Too hot down here, plenty of sharks though if that's what you are after.
See ya,
Rob |

Expect the larger 25" Diagonals and a few 36" Consoles to be migrating as soon as the water cools!
Damn, the luck you had today! |

Gotta get loosened up for the 50" plasma I know is lurking past the third bar!!!!! . Bummer on the flats, I started carrying three or four fix-a-flat cans a plug kit and plan on buying a large 12V to 110V inverter and a small pancake compressor in the near future. |

| I caught the remote for your TV/VCR combo on green fishbites. I threw it back but kept the old wino that was holding the remote. He will look good in my recliner. |

ROB!!! You are truly the master angler!!!! I have been trying to land a TV/VCR combo for years. First you catch a tarpon and now the TV/VCR!!!! You keep beating me to those spectacular catches.
