Well,

The cold front made it to Austin. It's not even 60 degrees yet and it's already 10am. Hopefully it'll make its way down to the coast in time for the weekend. I'll be going down to PINS with a buddy from work and some of his family. We'll be in 2 jeep cherokees (black & white), with a big white dog running around. Stop by and say hi if you see us.

It passed through last night.

I was out kayaking with a friend on Nueces Bay from 8:30 to 11:30 last night (he caught a 26" red). It was about 10pm when I smelled the storm coming. Shortly after we could see the lightning off in the distance, so we fished a few more minutes then headed for the trucks (an hour's paddling). Got home about 30 minutes before the heaviest rains and lightning hit. I'm glad I wasn't on the water when that passed through.

Woke up this morning and it was chilly outside. It's 66 degrees fahrenheit outside my house right now.

Hey Kostya,
I'm from Corpus living in Austin. Just got back from there this past weekend. The fishing was a little slow for me and a friend. We where out at the Shamrock channel's, cought a few but only one keeper flounder. Confused I was out trying my new yak, the wind was a killer and the saltwater, mud, and sand was a pain-in-the-a**. I'm starting to think Bass fishing is more fun, at less the mess afterward is easier to clean up.
After this front came blowing in last night, I'm thinking the fishing this weekend is going to pick-up there in Corpus. Where abouts on PINS ya'll going. If I make it maybe I can stop by and say "Hi".

saraustx,

We're planning on camping somewhere around 17-19mm on Friday night, and we'll see how the conditions are from there on. My buddy grew up bass-fishing here in Texas, so I'm sure you two will have plenty to talk about Smile

see ya on the beach!

Kostya,
Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it after all. I'll probably just go to Town Lake or Decker and try a little fish there.
Hey good luck on the PINS fishing! let me know how it goes and what you catch.

Sam
