Tyler,
Nice running into you @ Roy's on Saturday and talking fishing! I'm definitely going to try some surf fishing soon. I've got a new med-fast 9' Calcutta that I have to check out. It's been collecting dust in my dining room. It seems some times that getting ready to hit the surf is much easier than loading all the yak gear in the Sub for bay yaking. Plus getting back and paddling into the wind is like crawling with Michael Moore sitting one one's back and saying all the hype.
Keep up the great reports.

Like I said, the bay is great but in the surf it is an absolute rush to be fishing for trout and then have your mirrolure inhaled by a 25 lb Jack Crevalle. |

Thats great tyler but not everybody has 4x4 and can go where you guys go. Can we catch them upon the north end and what would you use? _________________ Fishing and Kayaking its a rough life but somebody has to do it.

Sure you can. PAHillbilly and the Teamoso gang ran into them two years ago on Mustang every morning early one week in October. Old Salt saw a bunch busting bait the other day just off of Whitecap. Just look for birds and use finger mullet or some plug or lure you don't mind losing and you should be good to go. I have seen them hit one half ounce Mr Champs to Catch 2000's to Tony Acetta Spoons and Bass Assassins. I have seen then hit cut bait, and shrimp.
They will get really thick and hang around till the first week of December or thereabouts.
Better concentrations can be found more often down south in 4x4 territory as fall progresses. The jetties at Port A can be a great spot to get them too!
