My wife & I drove to Galveston friday to visit our son at A&M. Of course, surf tackle included just in case the weather decided to cooperate. It did until saturday afternoon, when the wind started howling. The water was extremely rough and chocolate brown down the beach until about 5 miles up from the pass, where we found almost green water hitting the beach. Absolutely no noticeable guts to fish all the way down to the pass, I think you could wade out 300yds before getting up to your chest. Fished a few hours until after dark on the rising tide in a "hole". Clint caught a super large gaffstop, me one mediup whiting. It took him an hour to catch the first finger mullets, surf almost devoid of bait. Didn't find a fisherman who caught any reds on the way in or out. But, I was with my son, who loves to surf fish as much as he does traditional archery hunt. The sand felt good between our toes, and the beer was cold. -Zano _________________ "Throughout our life, we will only meet two people with whom we can agree with 100% of the time.
