I sent an e-mail to the Army Corp of Engineers office in Galveston concerning the status of the Packery Channel project, this is the reply I received back.

"The project has not been completed. The dredging was completed the end of January 2006. We lack 400 feet of completing the north jetty.

The project also experienced damages during Hurricanes Emily and Rita. We are awaiting additional funds to complete the repair work. If funds are received soon, the project could be completed by June 2006. "
