Got a private message last night with the following link:

Sender thought its subject might not be among the things of interest to this board, but had an idea I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to preach on it anyway. I don't hunt myself, but that's because it's even more expensive than fishing, I wear bifocal Coke-bottle lenses, and I worry that even if I went along as a spectator some pro like the VP would think I was game. That certainly doesn't make me an anti-hunter, and I'd almost take up the sport if I could get my teeth on some smoked feral hog ribs again. MMMMMM! Besides being good to eat, feral hogs do a lot of serious environmental damage and are among the smartest, most challenging of targets for any hunter. Please do your part to pot all you can, and tell me when the barbeque begins.
However, S4Bs like the promoters, participants and spectators described in the linked article give all real sportsmen a bad name. If it weren't for the possible harm to the dogs, I'd like to strip and hamstring all those individuals caught at this sick form of entertainment, glue boar-like hair all over their bodies, and pitch them in the rings with the canine winners of their latest sick exhibition. |
