You'll have to log in to vote, but there is a poll on the Caller Times Website about whether or not to close the beaches, also a so called fair expose covering all the issues on beaches in Galveston, South Padre, and in Florida:

Big John, re the Caller.com's idea of a poll, as Mandy Patinkin says in The Princess Bride, "I do not think that word means what you think it means."
See my post this morning. Until the poll is changed as I suggest, let's all just check (2) No, and write in the comments slot: "This poll stinks." |

Excellent point Johnny. Vote "NO" so there is no doubt. They are obviously trying to lump those on the fence or who would settle for a bollard system like in Port A with the YES crowd. SO VOTE NO and tell them the POLL is BIASED towards YES and IT STINKS, as Johhny says! _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Too late! Didn't even get to take my own advice before the poll was apparently yanked from the Caller.com webpage this morning. Did anybody else get to vote and complain before the poll went away? Maybe just threatening to say it stinks was the verbal equivalent of threatening to wear thongs in front of the seawall.
Anybody see a either the old poll again or an entirely new one, give us a heads up.
Tyler, while we await developments, maybe you can post a sticky with a poll like the one I suggested to the C-T? Losing the opportunity to vote against beach restrictions on the Caller.com poll after getting all worked up about it is like not getting to finish the petition and vote against the ordinance. |

Talk about a trial ballon to influence public opinion. The opinions expressed and votes were not what they wanted so they discarded it.
To be clear on the poll Tyler started I believe in controls and organization of traffic on this soon to be congested stretch but "restrictions" Is not appropriate language for that. |

| Johnny, I saw it and voted on it. At the time. it was 66% No. Guess they didn't want to see that so it was yanked. Later, Aubrey |
