I was fishing brauning and the water was full of yaks! I came home with 3 cats and 3 white bass, but was wondering who they were? They must have thought I was in the club, because they kept paddling over and wanting to talk. I don't walk up to you in your church... so would they think it's okay to do in mine?

Wow. You cant talk to a fellow fisherman. You must not have many friends. It was a Star Kayak Tournament. Why do you get on this site and chat w/ fisherman but cant talk to them on the water. Question

Well, the vote is in and I guess I'm the bad guy. I have always hated the guy that wanders into your camp or stands next to you on the trout stream. In my mind I always thought "It's a big lake/river go find your own spot." The worst is when you catch a fish and people think it's okay to join you. By far what I hate most is the music playing, loud talking, wild children people who think everyone on the lake wants to hear Alan Jackson or Metallica and domestic fighting. Most of you are going to tell me to move to Alaska, I guess next time a guy paddles over I'll try to be more civil.

Sorry

No bad guy, I think some folks are generally so excited to be involved in these fishing deals that they want to talk it up with other folks. Some folks just want to get some quiet time to chill out and there is certainly nothing wrong with that.

Why is it so hard just to say,

"thanks for stopping by, but I'd prefer to be alone"?

It's a clear statement that says exactly what you want.

You are right the fact I bought a one person kayak, then paddled a quarter mile away from anyone and did not bring anyone with me does not mean I do not want company. This is a weekly thing... In just October I have had a nice young man bum some bait (charming) and then the guy who paddled through the school I was working to ask my lure prefrence (outstanding) or finally the folks that greet me on the shore to ask if I want my fish - No, I got them for you! This is a surprise to some of you, but some of us go fishing to fish.

I think the picture posting of the kayak and fisherman is a good idea to avoid discomforts.
