Fished with topwaters from the 15 back the Bob Hall Pier. Dr. Jim and I finally caught 3 trout near the pier. There was no bait in the water to be found till you got North and even then not much.
Fished a crome and bone SheDog re-rigged with 4/0 Owner Aki Hooks (Owner Aki Hook is a J-hook w/ straight eye, black chrome finish.) with points rigged with extra split rig to let hook point ride up. This makes the lure amost weedless.
Switched to glo SheDog as sun set but only rewarded with a few blowups. _________________ Ahh sand between my toes! |

Got on PINS late Sunday afternoon just as the world lit up everywhere. Didn't think it was worth the risk to try to run the beach with enough eletricity in the air to power the east coast. Back to town and a hotel for the night.
Hit the beach Monday morning, bumped and ground down into the 30's. Weed was less but the bite was off after the front and heavy storms Sunday night. Cauht one Whiting on Fishbites and that was it. No luck on lures.
Tried the 20's coming back out and had the same deal. There was a lot of old weed but little new stuff.
Spent the rest of the afternoon helping friends and thier broke pop up off the beach and back to San Antonio. Long trip from the 20's at about 5MPH. We did finally get things patched up enough to get it home.
Oh well, let the adventure beign! _________________ Magic |
