Spent the weekend at Mustang Island. Tried to go fishing Saturday moring (Ha!). If the wind had just blown a little harder...........
This morning went out in spite of the cold and off-color water. Fished from 7 to 8:30 just south of the JFK bridge drifting down the ICW. Caught 10+ trout on a Chug Bug throwing towards the west spoil bank. Several keepers. They quit that and I caught a few more on plum/chart assasin.
Then put the boat up and went over to take a look at the surf at fish pass. YUK. Thats the nastiest weed filled water I have ever seen.

Sounds like a good fishing trip even though the wind and weed was bad.
Chug Bug hu??Is that the top water one?

i have used the red and white chug bug and have done very well with it on trout.i have also used the yellow and crome(the big one) in the surf and done well.thats what i caught the jack in my pic on. i think storm makes some great lures.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------}<))">cuda |
