I am heading down to the cut on Friday and spending the weekend there. I was wondering if anybody has been down there recently and catching any fish. I never have any luck down there in early spring. If I have it has been in rocky slough. So I am open to any suggestion.

Last weekend with the wind up and the current moving the upper end of the cut was real good for trout any further south and the water was not very pretty. There was also some redfish in 9-mile.

Me and some buddies camped out between marker 8 & 10 with the wind in our face two weeks ago. We ended up three days with about 24 keeper drum and one 24" red. This is my second trip with this guys and last year we limited out on black drum and I had one 24" trout. I thought with wind pushing any bait in the area towards us we would of done better on trout and reds this time but to such luck. The pot for the weekend was won with a 42" drum, I had the pot with a 36" drum but my buddy took it not more than 30mins. to end. Good luck..... All fish were caught on dead shrimp off the bottom.

When we were loading the boat at Bird Island Sunday evening, a couple of guys were coming in from the Land Cut. They said that they limited out there and the fishing was real good. Good luck if you go.
