Posting this mainly to see what will happen. At least the board recognises that I'm looking at it, but still not sure it will identify a post as coming from me [Johnny French].
C.H. Givens & I hit the lake during a strong north wind last week, so rather than try our intended catfish hole in mid-lake we pulled up short in the lee of an island across from Caliham Point. Fishing in 54 feet of water with shrimp and cheese bait, we got 36, all blues. Moved later over by the spillway and got 4 more, including a couple of channels.
Nothing to shout about, but it filled 5 quart Ziplocs with filets. |

| All right!! Heck of a catch Johnny. I knew Choke had some Blues in it but had no idea if it was an abundant fishery. I would kill for a chance at that many Blues. Next time time ya'll go would you let an ol'hippy and his Indian Woman tag along? We have our bass boat with us and have been talking about going up there. Just don't have any idea how to run the lake. Heck, if you will I'll reciprocate if you want to fish Lake Fork, that's where we spend our summers. Been fishing the fork since '89. Fork was stocked with Blues once upon a time but they would never reproduce, or at least that's what the biologists said. Never turned up any small ones in nets when checking over the years so they gave up and don't even stock 'em anymore. |

Tried to reply directly with quite a long message when I got the notice of response in my in-box, but lost it all arguing again with the board about who I was.
I'll pass the word to C.H., who's got the boat, that you'd like to tag along next trip. |
