I moved to CC a few months ago. Went fishshing for the first time, now I'm hooked (no pun intended).
Problem . . . I don't know anything.
For this time of year (april-may), can someone give me a couple of good morning, daytime, and night spots around CC (within 20 min.)
Also, what do i use. Bait, artificial, lures . . . and which ones?
I realize this is a huge question, but I'm taking some friends from out of town next week, and I need to know some basics so they can catch some fish to eat.
Any advice would be great. Hope it's not a bother.

Four words.........dead shrimp oso bay. jk. Go to caller.com, outdoors, fishing.........They list several wading locations with detailed instructions on how to get there. Right now the topwater action is picking up.

Hope this helps alittle.

You can always stop by Roy's Bait & Tackle shop on SPID and chat with them. Ask for Rocky or Mike. Check with Cos @ CosWay for pier fishing (JFK Causeway). Check with Sharon/others @ Clem's Marina underneath the JFK Causeway bridge to see what guides have been catching and pier fishing report there. Check with Nick at Breakaway shop on the Island for surf fishing tips.

Good luck!

You might consdier hiring a professional guide for a day or two to learn the area, techniques, and baits to use. They will put you on fish and provide everything you need to catch the fish. From those lessons, you will learn more than years on the water by yourself will teach you, making worth the money.

Check out either Mike Singleterry or Brent Hopkins. They are both good guys to spend a day on the water with, and really know the area as well.

Good luck and tight lines!
