How did Rob do? |
Rob did like a lot of others did, he fished hard but didn't land any. He did however have the big one that got away. I turned and saw a huge explosion on top and then it got off. I asked Rob what he was throwing and he said a red and white Catch 2000. I thought it was probably a trout as the reds don't normally come to the surface and shake their heads. He thought the same thing. The splash looked like it was at least a 25 inch fish.
First place trout was 19.5 inches. Flakman just missed out on 3rd trout with one just under 18.5"
It was lots of fun, there was about two feet less water in an area which is shallow anyway. It was muddy too with still lots of freshwater in areas so as I said lots of folks got skunked. I did manage to get three fish though one of them was a gafftop and the other was an 11.5" trout. I lost one other about 15" there at the end. For those of you that kayak fish, you all would enjoy it as we all had a great time.
Thanks for the info TW, we ended up fishing Barroom Bay. Man is that place a zoo on the weekend. We must have had 100 boats whiz by us in that channel and right in the bay too. Some slowed down while they went by us in our drifts but pleny others cut us off. I would like to think mainly because they were scared to get off plane for fear of running aground. |
